Highschool lasts forever

. "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness.."

I remember quoting Charles Dickens' "A Tale of two cities" during my audition for the debate team of our school last year. And eight months later, I was awarded as Debater of the year. Debate is one of the things I missed doing. I wish I could go back to highschool where my friends and I would laugh and have fun endlessly. I miss those long talks and unending adventures.
After our graduation I felt a very deep anguish inside me. Looking at my teachers, friends, classmates and schoolmates for the last time was a very heart breaking moment. Knowing that there were lots of possibilities was of grave concern then; such as when my bestfriend told me that she won't be staying in Iligan for long. The plan was to move to Butuan for college. That idea was hugely an upsetting one. Neither of us (me and my friends) would be in the same school nor the same course.  That was pretty sad.

College is a very different world for me. No room for my immaturity, I can bear with that. What I couldn't imagine is the fact that I no longer have my friends or "barkadas" with me.

I can see the positive side, though,  like I always do, fortunately. :) Haha
The Lord has been very good to me. He provided me new friends and my churchmates.  Their presence quenched my deep craving for friends.  The student ministry of our church has been a blessing to my life. It kept me fulfilled and occupied.

I can see that college has no place for my immaturity, and therefore forced me to change. I can say now that I am a little different than last school year.
I can say that I am no longer a girl;  I am already a lady.
I realized that having a "crush" is just a waste of time and I've been wasting my time for the past years for that. It's not just worth it.
I see that patience is indeed a virtue. I know that Love can wait. I believe, that the Lord, if ever He'll let me marry, already reserved that perfect guy for me. So, no need to hurry :) Love is waiting, 'till its right.

I hope my friends and I would be reunited, and when that happens I would cherish every minute of it.
'till we meet again.

By your dearest kimuy, now a kolehiyala. :))

#Writing in the discipline

Writing in the discipline
Writing in the discipline is not just a subject on my course ,but,  it is an essential skill students must acquire.  It is not exclusive for English majors, but rather for every student who aspires to have a college degree. After our second meeting in our english 2 class my perception of writing in the discipline changed.  I realized the importance of the subject itself. It is academic writing.

"Writing in the discipline is formal writing" says my teacher. It is after that, that I completely understood what Writing in the Discipline truly means. The latter involves critical thinking skills while you write.  Writing in the discipline has a format, structure, style and organization. It is not just empty babble, It is using your critical thinking skills while you write with complexity, formality, objectivity and precision.. The writer must be accurate in how he/she writes. I now see the importance of writing in the discipline. It is not just a mere course for me to pass, rather a ticket to improvement of one's self. Writing in the discipline is a necessity.

THE GIRL ON FIRE

Call me Ashley!

I am passionately curious of the UNSEEN, therefore, I live to know Him more. I write because it is my passion. Music is one of the most wonderful creations of God. I write my own music- I can play the guitar and drums. My voice is not that impressive, but  I can say that it is my favourite instrument.

My faith and my relationship with my God is important in my life. I struggle like other humans do, but mine is somewhat light because I believe in what the Scriptures says "His yoke is easy and burden light" - Matthew 11:30.

I am a Pastor's kid; a youth leader in our church. I live to glorify Christ!

I wanted to become a lawyer someday, but right now I am not pretty sure if that is what I would enjoy doing. I enjoy writing, yet, i still have a lot of things to learn to be able to write well. :) That is why I enjoy being an English major because I get a chance to improve my writing skills as well as my thinking skills.

I love to read. My favorite books are mostly the classics. The Bible has been my favorite in season and out of season. Secular books like "The Hunger games" and Andrew Clement's children's books are currently included in my "A-list." I also love reading books or watch films about the Holocaust, the Jews and the Nazis.

Claiming myself a neophyte photographer. although I don't own an overpriced camera, only a small fragile one, I believe I can capture wondrous and astonishing things. Even though I don't have a digital single-lens reflex camera (DSLR), which is worth 20 years of my allowance, I can boast a portfolio of my own. An excellent picture does not depend on the camera one is using, but on the way one captures the moments with style. In other words, so much depends on the way the photographer handles a camera; his/her eye for beauty and angle. Anyway, I'll give you facts about myself for you to know me better.
